Marketing is one of the essential "functional areas" common to the management and operation of a business.    As you know those include human resources, finance, operations, IT, supply chain,  accounting and marketing.    This class examines the marketing function and it’s role in an organization.    The text takes us through the various elements of marketing in a survey fashion, examining the marketing activities common to most organizations.  

   We will also consider the societal issues which emerge from marketing practices,  as well as ethical and legal issues.   Marketing activities of government and non-profit organizations will also be covered,  as well as the global issues and international aspects of marketing.
